Publication policy

Simbisa policy prohibits an author from submitting the same manuscript for concurrent consideration by two or more publications. It also prohibits the publication of any manuscript that has already been published, either in whole or in substantial part, elsewhere, and does not permit the publication of a manuscript that has been published in full in proceedings.

Code of ethics

The Simbisa journals and the Indonesian Institute of Experts, Educators, and Researchers take seriously the responsibility of all of their journal publications to reflect the highest standards of publication ethics. All journals and journal editors are therefore expected to abide by the journal's code of ethics.

Originality

The author must ensure that a manuscript submitted to Simbisa is original work. Check the manuscript for possible plagiarism with a program such as Turnitin, or other software, before submitting it to the Simbisa Editorial Office, Journal Division. All submitted manuscripts must be within the acceptable similarity index range: 20% or less passes; more than 20% is rejected.

Authorship

Authors are not permitted to add or remove any names from the authorship provided at the time of initial submission without the consent of the journal's Chief Executive Editor.

Manuscript preparation

Most scientific papers are prepared according to a format called IMRAD, named for the first letters of its main sections. IMRAD is a more defined version of the "IBC" (Introduction, Body, Conclusion) format used for all academic writing. It indicates a pattern rather than a complete list of components; the other parts of a paper are the title, authors, keywords, abstract, conclusions, references and acknowledgement. Some papers also include appendices.

  1. IntroductionExplains the scope and objective of the study in light of current knowledge on the subject.
  2. Materials and MethodsDescribe how the study was conducted.
  3. ResultsReport what was found in the study.
  4. DiscussionExplains the meaning and significance of the results and suggests directions for future research.

The manuscript must be prepared according to the journal's Author Guidelines.

Editorial process

  1. SubmissionAuthors who complete a submission receive an acknowledgment containing a manuscript ID on receipt, and again upon the editorial decision.
  2. Peer reviewSimbisa follows a double-blind peer-review process. Manuscripts deemed suitable for publication are sent to reviewers. Authors are encouraged to suggest at least 3 potential reviewers when submitting, but the editors make the final selection and are not bound by these suggestions.
  3. DecisionNotification of the editorial decision is usually provided within 3-7 days of receipt of the manuscript. In most cases manuscripts are accepted conditionally, pending the author's revision.
